Ruffneck™ FR Heat Exchanger Unit Heaters are extra heavy duty (including heavy gauge steel construction) to meet the most demanding service and long life requirements for rugged industrial applications. The FR Series heaters are specifically designed for steam applications. Explosion-proof models suitable for hazardous locations are available.

epoxy-coated 14-gauge steel cabinet construction
plated capscrew fasteners; no sheet metal screws used
steel construction core with tension-wound, close fitting aluminum fins
highly resistant to corrosive agents, including hydrogen sulphide
pressure ratings determined by ASME Section VIII; designed for pressures up to 200 psi; all units are 100% leak tested.
engineered for easy maintenance, all parts are easily removed; core is fully removable without disturbing heater mounting arrangement or electrical connections
available in a single-pass configuration, best suited to steam and high flow rate liquid applications
narrow-gap, epoxy coated fan guard
optional Heresite® coating on core and/or cabinet for severe corrosive environments
UL-listed/CSA-approved motors available
all models are Canadian CRN approved
CSA certified for the following Hazardous Location Classifications: Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups C & D; Class II, Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G; Class III, Division 1 & 2; Temperature Code T3B
